Kenya Relief Fund Created

Reach the Children typically works to facilitate self-reliance in Africa. Kenya, one of our most active countries, recently entered a state of chaos due to alleged election fraud and racial tensions associated with the outcome. There have been more than 500 deaths as a result of violence stemming from these tensions. Reach the Children has friends directly affected by this situation. We have set up the Kenya Emergency Food Fund to help ease the impact of the tragic state of affairs. It is project #1106-K2. We have already received several thousand dollars through our associates and affiliate donors through partner organizations like Meridian Magazine. We appreciate all who have opened their hearts and wallets to our sisters and brothers in Kenya.

We maintain our hope and optimism that the atmosphere in Kenya will improve, that peace will resume, and that citizens of Kenya may once again focus their efforts on improving their quality of life instead of survival. We know that the only way to overcome man-made tragedies such as this is through an increase in integrity and character on the part of every citizen. Our thoughts and prayers are with our dear friends.
